01.1 — What we style

What we style

  1. Ceremony

Arches, hoops and aisles — the moon arch, the rustic doors, florals matched to your palette, chairs and sashes set out before you arrive.

  2. Stage and backdrop

Crossed drapes, a gold or scallop sofa, garlands and candles. This is the photograph everyone takes, so it is the one we spend longest on.

Stage styling by Decoration X: Cream scalloped loveseat beneath a gold arch swagged in ivory chiffon with peach and blush roses, crystal strands, floral plinths and twin chandeliers on grey drapes.

01.4 — How it works

How it works

  1. You send the details

Date, venue or suburb, roughly how many people, and which parts you want handled. A photo of something you like helps more than a paragraph.

  2. We quote the room

A hall, a marquee and a back garden are three different jobs, so there is no one price. The quote form shows what our own rooms cost: pick the one closest to yours, take off what you don't need, and you know roughly where it lands. The quote is for your room, itemised, and there is no obligation.

  3. We build it and strike it

We arrive early, set up, and come back to pack down. The same three people do the planning and the install.

01.5 — Questions

Questions

Can you do just one part, like the stage or the arch?

Yes. We style the parts you want and leave the parts you don't, and that is not a downgrade — it is how a lot of our work is booked.

How much does event decoration cost?

It depends on the size of the space, how much of it you want styled, and what is going in it — a ceremony arch is a different job from a full venue with stage, tables and signage. If you want a rough figure first, the quote page shows what each of our rooms costs: pick the one closest to yours and untick what you don't need. It is a guide. The quote is for your room.

How much notice do you need?

Ask even if your date is close. We do a lot of short notice — one of our regulars booked two birthdays last-minute in a single go — so a tight date is a normal conversation here rather than a problem.

Do you hire out decorations on their own?

Yes, alongside the styling — Decoration X is a decoration and equipment hire business as well as a styling one. The arches, plinths, sofas, backdrops and props you can see in the gallery are ours.

01.6 — Invitation

Planning weddings?

Send the date, the venue and roughly how many people. The more you tell us, the closer the quote will be. If it is short notice, say so — we do a lot of short notice.
